There are businesses every day that didn’t get the memo their cheese moved. Their industry changed and they didn’t zig and zag with it or they just realized their shelf life was soon to expire. Look at Radio Shack…help me…help me… I’m losing ground and need another transfusion! Did the powers at be not realize the consumer doesn’t need speaker wire anymore? Did they not check out their competition and see what you could buy and for how much at Circuit City?Every business….record companies, restaurants, hardware stores, travel agencies, real estate companies etc. want to stay in the forefront of their industry and remain profitable in business! However winds are blowing and changes happen at lightning speed all due to technology. If your head has been firmly entrenched in the sand you better stand up and look around and make certain your shelf life is still viable.
If you are committed to practice the 3 A’s you have a chance! Stay informed, network with others, read and make certain you are practicing the 3 A’s:
- “Anticipate” changes
- “Adjust” your direction and business plan
- “Adapt”to changes that are occurring on a daily basis.
Your business can remain profitable and you might find yourself at the top of your game watching many others in your field fall beside the wayside. It is the survival of the fittest. Make it happen and don’t be the one whose shelf life expired and you didn’t have a clue how it happened!
